UPort 1610-8 USB-to-serial converter allows you to connect 8 RS-232/422/485 devices to your laptop or workstation via USB (Universal Serial Bus). UPort 1610-8 is a low cost-high efficiency converter for both old and new type serial devices. It is also ideal for motion, instrumentation and point-of-sale applications. USB plug & play makes serial port expansion very convenient and eliminates the need for IRQ, DMA, or I/O address resources. Users do not have to open the chassis or turn off the power to add a COM port, saving both time and cost. Moxa's +20 years of experience in serial card design has created a maximum performance CPU called MOXA ART. This chip equips the UPort 1610-8 converter with USB 2.0 (High-speed 480 Mbps), 128-bit FIFO, on-chip hardware and software flow control, and burst data mode. With these features, Moxa UPort converters exhibit high-level performance that is incomparable with their competitors.
