TCC-80 acts as a converter between RS-232 and RS-422/485 and does not require external power. Thanks to its data routing feature, it provides conversion and transmission to RS-485 signal without using an additional program. The RS-232 port on the TCC-80 can be plugged into a PC as a DB9 female socket and power is provided via TxD, RTS or DTR line. Whether the signal is low or high, the TCC-80 obtains sufficient power from the line. However, external power may be required in cases where the serial connection cable is very long or the connected device is a low power consumption device. It is a standalone device that can receive power via serial port.
