TCF-90-M-ST is a compact converter that transfers RS-232 signals over multi-mode fiber optic infrastructure. It provides power from the serial port or an external power source. With 2 of these devices, which extends RS-232 transmission up to 5 km, 2 RS-232 end devices can be connected via fiber optic in full duplex mode. Fiber optic connectivity isolates data signals against dangerous increases in ground potential, ground loop, and electrical EMI/RFI interference, increasing data security by eliminating the harmful effects of RF radiation and sensitivity to electromagnetic radiation.
