5-port managed Ethernet switch (built-in)

NPort S8455 Series combines an industrial device server and a fully functional managed Ethernet switch in a single chassis. It allows you to easily set up and manage your device with 2 fiber ports, 3 Ethernet ports and 4 RS-232/422/485 serial ports. Combining the Ethernet switch and serial device converter in a single device allows you to achieve power saving, space saving and low cost. Data flow between all serial and Ethernet interfaces is bidirectional. Additionally, the NPort® S8455 Series supports all NPort® 5000 Series device server functions.

NPort S8455 Series features a full-function managed Ethernet switch with support for QoS, IGMP-snooping/GMRP, VLAN, Port Trunking, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, and IEEE 802.1X. Ethernet redundancy is provided with Moxa's Turbo Ring® technology (recovery time < 20 ms) or RSTP/STP (IEEE 802.1w/D), ensuring the continuity and reliability of your industrial Ethernet.

For industrial automation, device-level communication networks are critical for monitoring and controlling device operations. A significant portion of this communication depends on ring redundancy at the device level. This provides a fast error-checking system and instant re-establishment of important control applications.
