Wireless serial device servers with NPort IAW5150A-6I/O digital I/O provide maximum convenience in integrating your serial hardware into a wireless Ethernet network in the field. Digital I/O combinations make these serial to Ethernet converters suitable for a wide variety of industrial data acquisition applications. Digital I/Os on the device can be controlled via TCP/IP using the Modbus TCP protocol and can be configured from the web browser. The devices can also be installed as a COM Port (patented Real COM) on a Windows/Linux PC to run compatible with legacy applications. All models are designed with rugged casing, DIN-rail mountability and redundant power inputs for uninterrupted operation in industrial applications.

The Ethernet port of the converters allows data to be transferred smoothly between serial line, LAN and WAN, thus enabling the integration of LAN and WLAN interfaces using a single IP address.

With SSH and HTTPS support in addition to IP filtering and password protection, NPort IAW5150A-6I/O protects against unauthorized access from system administrators' biggest headaches. In order to transfer control messages securely, it is sufficient to open the web console using an HTTPS supported web browser. You can also open a Telnet console like serial or PuTTY using a terminal emulator that supports SSH.

Most devices only support a certain baudrate. However, some applications may require special baudrates such as 250 kbps or 500 kbps. Using NPort IAW5150A-6I/O you can choose any baudrate between 50 and 921.6 kbps. If your device's baudrate is not standard, you can enter the baudrate you want by selecting "other" from the list that opens on the interface.
