Each NPort IA5000 series serial Ethernet converter has two Ethernet ports that can also be used as Ethernet switch ports. A port directly to the network or server; The other port is for connection to another NPort IA device server or Ethernet device. With dual Ethernet ports, the need for a separate Ethernet switch for each device is eliminated and creates much less cable cost. These devices have two DC power inputs that can be connected simultaneously. If one of the power inputs fails, the other power support is automatically activated.
