NPort 6600 series secure serial device servers are the right choice for applications where many serial devices are used in a small space. In applications where security breaches are intolerable, the NPort 6600 series secures data transfer integrity with DES, 3DES and AES encryption algorithms. Any type of serial device can be connected to the NPort 6600, and each serial port on the NPort can be independently configured as an RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 transport type.

NPort 6600 has a built-in LCD panel for configuration. The panel shows the server name, serial number and IP address, so any configuration parameters of the device, such as IP address, netmask and gateway address, can be updated easily and quickly. The LCD panel is only available on models with a standard temperature range.

NPort 6600 offers adjustable termination, pull high and pull low resistors for RS-485 communication. In some critical conditions, terminating resistors may need to prevent serial signals from reflecting, and pull high and pull low resistors may require adjustment to maintain the integrity of the electrical signal. Since there is no set of resistor values that works for all conditions, the NPort 6600 allows resistor values to be manually adjusted for each serial port using the built-in DIP switch.
