With the NPort 5630-8, 8-port rackmount serial Ethernet converter, you not only protect your investment in your existing hardware, but also enable the network expansion you may need in the future by centralizing your serial devices and distribution management servers on the network.

With a simple configuration via NPort 5630-8, up to 8 serial devices can easily be connected to the Ethernet network. The devices have Tx/Rx LED indicators for serial ports on the front panel and 8 RJ45 serial ports on the rear panel. This feature makes the NPort 5630-8 suitable for standard 19-inch rackmount installation, facilitating operational, maintenance-oriented or management activities.

Real COM/TTY drivers enable serial ports on the NPort 5630-8 to be recognized as Real COM ports by Windows or Real TTY ports by Linux. Besides basic data transfer and reception, NPort drivers also support RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR and DCD control signals.

The system LED, serial Tx/Rx LED and Ethernet LED (on RJ45 connector) provide a useful tool for basic maintenance activities and assist the field team in analyzing on-site problems. LED indicators not only indicate the current system and network status, but also help monitor the status of connected serial devices.
