NPort 5230 device server can operate in TCP Server, TCP Client or UDP operating modes and is thus compatible with software-based standard network API (Winsock, BSD Socket). Real COM/TTY drivers, designed for compatibility with existing software , enable instant and uninterrupted communication with COM/TTY ports that can be integrated into the TCP/IP network. By specifying the IP address and port number for the NPort 5230, a network API socket can access serial devices connected over the network via any TCP/IP supported computer. With COM or TTY-based Windows or Linux compatible software, Moxa's COM/TTY drivers ensure seamless operation over the network.
