MGate 5118-T industrial protocol gateways have SAE J1939 protocol support based on CANBus (Controller Area Network). SAE J1939 is used to communicate and diagnose vehicle components, diesel engine generators and compressors. It is suitable for the heavy goods vehicle sector and generator systems. The use of electrical control unit (ECU) in the control of such devices is becoming increasingly common, and in an increasing number of process automation applications, PLCs are used to control the status of J1939 devices connected to the ECU in the background.
MGate 5118-T gateways feature Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET protocol support, making them suitable for almost all PLC applications. Devices that support the J1939 protocol can be supervised and controlled via PLC and SCADA systems using Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP, EtherNet/IP, or PROFINET protocol. With the MGate 5118-T it is possible to use the same gateway in a wide variety of PLC systems.
