CP-138U-I 8-port serial port multiplexer cards are designed for long-distance, multi-point PC-based industrial automation systems. RS-485 communication for turning the line driver on and off requires precise time control. Moxa Turbo Serial Engine on CP-138U-I serial port multiplexer card? Thanks to the chip and ADDC® (Automatic Data Direction Control), using RS-485 becomes as easy as RS-232.
Each of the 8 RS-422/485 serial ports on the cards has a data rate of 921.6 Kbps. In RS-485 mode, 31 daisy-chained RS-485 devices within 1.2 km can be added to the serial port. The CP-138U-I model has 2 kV optical isolation for long distance RS-485 communication. Windows COM and Linux/Unix TTY drivers are provided for all Moxa cards and other embedded operating systems such as WEPOS.
